Celebrate this season in the islandly spirit

Pleasant temperatures, fewer tourists, and vibrant sunsets make autumn a great time to travel to Phu Quoc. To offer travelers picture-perfect memories, Salinda Resort famed for its eco-friendly approach to hospitality and soulful service offers its guests 5 AUTUMN IN THE TROPICS TIPS to fully enjoy their islandly escape.

1. SIP SUNSET ON THE BEACH

One of the most refreshing ways to enjoy autumn on the beach is to sip on a cocktail while watching nature’s best show of the day – the sunset on Phu Quoc Island. October offers one of the best sunset versions of the year with rich hues from fiery crimson to royal purple, casted over the moving sea. Guests are invited to explore Salinda’s new seasonal collection of Fall in Paradise Cocktails inspired by sunset palettes with an autumn twist to the playful medley of tropical flavors.

2. LIT UP THE MOON RIVER

Since Salinda is derived from Latin for “moon”, Mid-Autumn Festival has a very special meaning to the resort. When the moon is perfectly round and bright in its shining gold, the team invites all the guests to make a wish and release lanterns onto the moonlit river, an act that is thought to bring happiness and health.

3. TASTE AUTUMN IN THE FOREST

Get a chance to rediscover regional Italian cuisine with Phu Quoc touch in il Muro Italiano with some guest favorites like black bamboo charcoal pizza with local seafood and squash blossoms, or pannacotta made of local rose-myrtle “sim” berries. Inspired by warm forest walks on Tuscan mountains, Chef Simone added local mushrooms "nấm tràm" to his new earthy, seasonal dish with rosemary-seared lamb loin, porcini mushrooms, and truffle-infused chickpea puree, recreating his childhood memories on the plate. The restaurant was recently nominated for World Luxury Restaurants 2020.

4. HARVEST LOVE

In September, the Salinda team debuted their very first herb garden as part of Purple by Salinda Sustainability Initiative that aims to promote eco-friendly living. The gardeners and chefs of Salinda Resort strive to supply fresh and clean herbs to the entire resort, and encourage their guests to take a stroll around the newly planted garden and see what goes on their plates!

5. COSY UP WITH A BOOK

Over the years, Salinda’s guests shared their knowledge and gratitude by leaving a book in the resort’s library, where anyone can pick a read from the extensive collection of donated books from all over the world. Here is an autumn book recommendation from Salinda: Stories on the Walls - a detailed guide of all the decorative wall arts of the resort, from guest rooms to signature restaurants. Moreover, the resort offers many intimate spots, such as a wooden house in Mango Garden or inside the “bird cages” on the beach for you to enjoy your favorite read in full privacy.
