Last Saturday, October 12th, the Oscars of the Travel Industry – the World Travel Awards 2019 – were held on the beautiful Phu Quoc Island. The evening celebrated an annual search for the finest travel and tourism organizations in the world, and hundreds of the leading travel industries figureheads from across Asia and Oceania attended the ceremony. Salinda Resort was honorably recognized twice that night as Vietnam’s Leading Boutique Resort and Asia’s Leading Beach Boutique Resort 2019.
“It is such a meaningful birthday gift as we celebrate our fifth anniversary this month,” said Sandra Nguyen Si, director of Business Development. “Five years may be such a short time for history, but for us, it was the whole journey. A journey that started with a dream of bringing those memorable experiences to our guests. A dream of living hospitality every single day. A dream that one day we would reach this milestone full of pride together.”
The sentiment was echoed by Jeevan Thomas, resort manager: “Whether they have been with us five years or five months or five days, now it’s their story, their Salinda, their journey… Believing that together, we can make anything happen. This belongs to you.”
About Salinda Resort Phu Quoc Island
With its sweeping beaches and lush forests, it’s no surprise that Phu Quoc is experiencing a rapid increase in tourism with a large number of hotel openings. But what travelers want today is a local perspective of destinations, so their accommodation must be a part of this experiential adventure. And boutique hotels can personalize themselves in a way that is unique to their location, characterized by quirky designs, prestigious furnishings, convenient locations, gastronomic delights, and, most notably, incomparable personalized services.
Intimate and luxurious, artistic, and curated, Salinda Resort is an experience all unto its own. The resort’s architecture and landscape complement the natural setting of the island, and each of the deluxe rooms, suites, and villas has been designed to showcase the beauty of Vietnam through art that reveals traditional royal pottery, tropical gardens, coconut forests, and pearl shells.
While the resort is wrapped in a green silken shawl of over 100 types of trees and flowers, the team also aims to use recyclable materials and promote environmental stewardship in daily operations, substituting plastic for naturally recyclable materials from wooden bathroom amenities to bamboo straws to name a few – all being part of the Purple by Salinda Sustainability Initiative. Since May 2019, Salinda has been an official collaborator of WWF-Vietnam in Plastic Reduction Management on Phu Quoc Island.
With royal blue color matching the ocean beyond, its calm surface covered with a cascade of palm leaves, the reflection of the stars, the moon, and the sun during dawn and sunset, Salinda has elevated the pool experience beyond the state of art. It runs on a special salt-filtration technology, substituting traditional industrial chlorine with natural salts.
Waking up to the sound of live piano music with a glass of bubbly or a cup of freshly brewed Vietnamese coffee is a whole new “good morning” experience. There is nothing more relaxing than feeling the gentle ocean breeze while being treated to a delightful presentation of fresh island fare at Salinda’s Sparkling Breakfast.
In the evenings, the variety of dining options will satisfy all tastes from authentic Vietnamese, traditional Indian to contemporary Italian, each with its distinctive venue concept and specialty Head Chef. And later that night, embark on a musical journey in a groovy High Note Bar Lounge with live music and a boundless selection of music-inspired cocktails.
Combining charm, the comfort of modern facilities, and authentic Vietnamese service, guests of Salinda Resort are provided with a soulful luxury experience and the distinctive character of a boutique resort – now being internationally recognized as one of the Top in Asia.
